Corona in July is a different planet than Corona del Mar. For triple-digit inland summers we spec lighter face colors and heat-reflective yarns, and we’ll tell you honestly which lines to avoid. A quick rinse before barefoot evenings does the rest.
IE yards run large, and a large live lawn is a large water bill with a mowing habit. Converting the thirstiest stretch, whether the front yard, the dog run, or the slope nobody enjoys mowing, usually delivers the biggest before/after in the whole region.
A lot of the Inland Empire sits on clay that pools water and heaves as it dries. Our installs grade and compact Class II base so drainage happens in the base layer, not on your patio. It’s why the prep takes longer than the turf.

Yes. Turf itself is UV-stabilized for exactly this climate, and unlike live grass it doesn’t die in a heat wave. Surface temperature is the real consideration: we spec lighter, heat-reflective face fibers inland, and a thirty-second rinse cools it for barefoot evenings.
Large lots see the biggest payoff: the water savings scale with square footage and mowing time disappears. Many IE clients convert the largest, thirstiest zone first and phase the rest over time.
Inland clay drains slowly and cracks as it dries, which is why turf laid straight over dirt fails here. We excavate, grade the flow direction deliberately, and plate-compact road base so water moves through the system. The base is most of the job.
